Changes in word order

Anastrophe

Inversion of natural word order.

Example :

One binge does not a bulemic make

Parenthesis

Insertion of a verbal unit that interrupts normal syntactical flow.

Example :

I got, so far as the immediate moment was concerned, away

Note: Do not confuse with the punctuation mark. This figure can occur without "( )."

Apposition

Addition of an adjacent, coordinate, explanatory element.

Example :

Women of this sort——beachcombers, beauty queens, mirror-gazers, supermodel wannabes——never forgive the sins of cellulite
